Ash Lumber

Ash lumber is kind of a cheap wood used for flooring, making furniture, paneling and many other purposes for domestic and commercial use. Ash lumber has many kinds including the white ash, black ash, green ash, blue ash and Biltmore species. They all differ in their attributes a bit but more or less they have similar features in many aspects as they are all ash lumbers. Ash belongs to the group of ring porous which is also termed as hardwoods. The ash lumber is not much durable as it’s defenseless to pest attacks n subjected to decay with the passage of time or if not cured properly. It also possesses a smell which is unpleasant but not much so it is not a big issue to sustain it or not.

The ash lumber is quite related to the oak lumber in pricing and looks but it’s better then an oak lumber in all aspects and it is treated as the best alternate and replacement to it. The most commonly used type of ash lumber is white ash because of its distinct features. It is hard and it’s the same rationale for which the white ash is quite regularly used in the tool handles, in bats of baseball and in the furniture making. It is comparatively better then the other types of ash lumbers in all aspects as it’s stronger and more reliable then the other types. The black ash wood lumbers are the second most commonly used type and it’s used mostly for commercial means in the industries and for making crates and boxes as it is lighter & weaker when matched with the white one.

The ash lumber is a very good option when placed in the interiors of homes or other buildings as it attracts the eye very simply. It usually has a light brown color with grain pattern over it which looks nice wherever it fits. The ash lumber is very easy to fit and it fits nicely whether it is placbed on the floors, on the walls or for paneling at other places. If one has proper tools then the ash lumber is very easy to cut, easy to get stain and easy to be nailed which means it is easy to work on any kind of ash lumber including the white ash wood lumber yourself. However it’s advisable that if you don’t have proper machines then do not waste your time on ruining the work and money. It is always better to hire a professional in these circumstances in order to get the work done professionally at all levels.

One of the drawbacks of ash is its smell as it can be reason of wood allergy occasionally. However the inclination of causing wood allergy in the ash lumber is way less then some of the other kinds of woods when they are used in homes of other places. However it is still a drawback and an issue associated with it and with some other kind of woods. The other draw backs are subjected to decays and insect attacks. Both can ruin the looks and life of the ash lumber in no time. However using the ash lumber at a dwelling place is a perfect option as the majority woods are also subjected to decays and insect attacks. The only difference is that using it will save a lot of cost for you in placement, material and polishing. Also the place where it is set will have better looks in less price which is something liked by us all.
